World Wide Festival of Races
Phedippidations, the podcast for runners at www.steverunner.com will present an episode featuring “Shouts of Encouragement” for all who are taking part in the Third Annual World Wide Festival of Races. (www.worldwidefestivalofraces.com).
One of the things that really helps a runner through the miles of a road race, be it a 5K, 10K or half marathon…is shouts of encouragement from by standers and spectators. When friends and family shout our names as we run, or when complete strangers see our names printed on our shirts or body parts and call us by name to say we’re running strong…it means a lot, it gives us a little boost of energy…we don’t want to disappoint the person cheering for us, we get a brief injection of pride and a reminder that what we’re doing out there is exceptional and special.
We need you to help us recreate that experience for everyone running the World Wide Festival of Races. Please send Steve Runner (steve@steverunner.com) a short audio recording of your shouts for encouragement…say whatever you want to say…tell your fellow runners that they’re looking good, read some words of encouragement, give them a cheer, read your favorite quote, a poem, a joke, a distraction…something to bring some comfort to those who are out there running their race…for some this will be an attempt to set a PR, others will be running their very first 5K…what would you say to someone who is out running a race for the very first time?
Try to keep your audio message between one to two minutes if you can, that’s more of a guideline than a hard set rule.

The show which will be episode 156 will come out on the weekend of the World Wide Festival of Races, October 11th and 12th…and it would mean a lot to the over 800 fellow runners who will take part in this event, if they could hear your words of wisdom, humor, motivation or encouragement as they run.
