For the fourth consecutive year, I’ll be recording my goofy little podcast: Phedippidations as I run the 113th Boston Marathon. On Monday April 20th (Patriots Day) I’ll be “Twittering” before, during and after the race providing live, real-time updates of my experiences as I run from Hopkinton, MA to downtown Boston.
In April I’ll produce four episodes dedicated to the race:
4/5 Fdip181: The 2009 State of the Course
Join me as I run my last “long run” before the race, along the course starting in Hopkinton. I’ll describe the current state of course (road conditions, construction work, and things to watch for on race day), and give you some of the history of “mile by mile” history of this greatest of all races.
4/12 Fdip182: Running Legend: Jacqueline Gareau
The story of a great Canadian runner who won the 1980 Boston Marathon despite the fraudulent attempt of a Cuban American woman from New York to steal the title by cheating in this greatest of all marathons.
Run with me as I explain with very clear, deductive and inductive reasoning why the Boston Marathon is the single greatest running event in the world.
For the 4th time in as many years, I will be recording my running of the 113th Boston Marathon as I run this great race on Monday, April 20th. This will be my 8th consecutive Boston Marathon, and my 20th marathon road race overall. Because I did not expect to be able to run this race, I have had only 5 short weeks to prepare for it (minimal compared to my usual 16 week marathon training period). This will be a very different race for me, and anything could happen out there.
It’s the 113th Boston Marathon on Phedippidations, the podcast for Runners at SteveRunner.com
