</strong>For the 4th time in as many years, I will be recording my running of the 113th Boston Marathon as I run this great race on Monday, April 20th. This will be my 8th consecutive Boston Marathon, and my 20th marathon road race overall. Because I did not expect to be able to run this race, I have had only 5 short weeks to prepare for it (minimal compared to my usual 16 week marathon training period). This will be a very different race for me, and anything could happen out there.</span></div>

<p><font size="2" face="Arial">“<strong>Phedippidations</strong>”, the internet radio show for runners, will present a series of audio programs in the month of April, 2008 covering the history, heroes and experiences of the Boston Marathon.</font></p>
<p><font size="2" face="Arial">In April, Phedippidations will present four episodes on the subject of the Boston Marathon:  Episode #136, April 6<sup>th</sup>: “<strong>Running Legend Katherine Switzer</strong>”, a biographical episode about the woman who challenged the all-male tradition of the Boston Marathon, and became the first woman to officially enter and run the race. </font></p>
<p><font size="2" face="Arial">Episode #137, April 13<sup>th</sup>:  “<strong>The 2008 State of the Course</strong>” recorded as Steve runs the course in preparation for race day. He’ll describe the race route, discuss some of the history of the event and give tips on what to look for on Marathon Monday. </font></p>
<p><font size="2" face="Arial">Episode #138, April 20<sup>th</sup>: “<strong>The Great Race of 1983</strong>”, one of the most exciting Boston Marathons featured exceptional performances by Greg Meyer, Joan Benoit and Jim Knaub and was one of the greatest races of all time.  In learning about the 1983 Boston Marathon you will come to understand why Boston is the world’s greatest road race. And then, on April 27<sup>th</sup>, </font></p>
<p><font size="2" face="Arial">Episode #139 will feature “<strong>The 112<sup>th</sup> Boston Marathon</strong>” recorded as Steve runs the 26.2 miles from Hopkinton Massachusetts to downtown Boston. </font></p>
<p><font size="2" face="Arial">On Patriots Day, April 21st, fellow runners will be able to track Steve “live” while he’s running the race.  A computer chip that he’ll be wearing will trigger sensors along the course which will report his location.   These messages will be sent to the Phedippidations Google Group, at <a href="http://groups.google.com/group/fdipgroup"><font color="#dfd664">http://groups.google.com/group/fdipgroup</font></a>.  You&#8217;ll also be able to track his progress starting at 10:30 AM EDT at the B.A.A. website at <a href="http://www.bostonmarathon.com/"><font color="#b8b05b">http://www.bostonmarathon.com</font></a></font></p>
